About
Dan Lieberman, Principal
With a long and distinguished career in marketing and communications dedicated to the renewable energy and clean technology sectors — including solar, wind, and battery storage — Dan brings unparalleled expertise to your firm or agency.
Dan founded Ampolo on the principle of transforming complex innovations into compelling narratives that resonate with audiences and drive growth, crafting strategic communications and impactful marketing campaigns designed to elevate brands, engage stakeholders, and accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy solutions.
Why "Ampolo"?
Ampolo means "lightbulb" in Esperanto, the constructed international language — the mark at the top of this page.
Dan's father, Jim Lieberman, was fluent in Esperanto, founded the Esperantic Studies Foundation, and served as president of the worldwide Esperanto Society. Esperanto means "one who hopes," and Jim believed deeply in the power of communication and language to make the world a smaller, more understanding place.
Ampolo carries that belief forward: the right idea, communicated clearly, is what lights things up.

- Has played bass guitar in rock bands since high school, logging hundreds of shows in a dozen states. Currently in Desoto Reds.
- Has a bike-chain tattoo, a nod to his love of bicycle transportation and his graduate-school work for the City of Austin's Department of Transportation as a bike transportation analyst.
